First things first, let me introduce myself!
I’m Samantha. It’s nice to meet you!
I’m a new mom to a beautiful baby girl. She was born on June 30, 2019 at 9:38 pm, exactly 2 weeks early.
I’m a born and raised Vermonter with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. So, it’s probably no surprise that I love writing. When I was a little girl, I would take books out from the school library and on weekends, write book reports for fun. With the weeks I’ve spent on maternity leave soaking in all the newborn snuggles, I’ve realized that I really miss writing.
Since growing our family, I’ve found so much joy in talking to other moms. There are so many ways we’re all doing this thing called motherhood.
And the greatest beauty of it all? None of those ways are wrong!
I’ve been lucky to have a great support system and the majority of my interactions have been positive. But, I’ve also been subject to mom-shaming, judgement and unkind words. I’ve learned that we all have, and it sucks. So I want to do something about that.
I want to tell your motherhood story. I want to connect with moms and I want you to feel heard. I want to create beautiful pieces of writing that we can share and be proud of. I want to chat via email, phone, carrier pigeon, coffee, whatever- and I want to create a space for us to showcase all the ways we’re doing this motherhood thing.
Whatever your journey includes- natural birth, c-section, adoption, surrogacy, miscarriage, breastfeeding, formula feeding, sleep training, bed sharing… I want to hear it all. I want to find a way for all of us to show off our version of motherhood.
Even more than I want to create a place for you to showcase your journey, I want to create a community of supporters. I want to show other moms that may not have the supportive village that I have, that we can create our own village.
I want to show moms that we can support each other, even though we aren’t doing it the same way.
I can’t wait to see what we do together, mamas!
